I was having the hardest time ever with yesterday\u2019s fast to\u00a0\u201cgive lavishly\u201d. I\u2019m just now getting to the point where I\u2019m fed up of giving everything I\u2019ve got and getting next to nothing in return, so yesterday\u2019s fast began as a challenge. I got instantly angry. I vowed that whoever I gave\u00a0\u201clavishly\u201d to would definitely not no way not no how be a man, as men are rarely required to give of themselves\u00a0\u201clavishly\u201d the way women are socialized\/required to do so. The jig is up! I\u2019m no longer here for it! BUT THEN. I thought of who else gives lavishly and gets little in return? Who else gives lavishly and is rarely thanked or appreciated (let alone is her giving reciprocated)? I thought of one woman super easily and it was a joy to be in a position to give lavishly to her. I was disappointed that what she asked for would be used and enjoyed by lots of other people when I only wanted to give to her. But I had to get over it and give her what would make her happy.
