You knew it was dumb when you did it.\u00a0 But, in an effort to refocus the attention away from the ignorant, you have cleverly fooled yourself into thinking there was some deeper meaning behind your\u00a0 foolishness, and that somehow, in the depths of your complete asininity, there was something wholly unregrettable — nay, beautiful<\/em>, in your egregious lapse in judgment (You aren’t going to be that<\/em> girl, are you? By God!\u00a0 Please<\/em>, don’t be that<\/em> girl).<\/p>\n This analysis is wrong.<\/p>\n Here’s the reality: you did a jackass thing. (I’ll give you a minute to breathe that in. Now don’t sit down in it, just give due diligence to that simple fact. … ok, that’s good. Let’s move on).\u00a0 This dumb thing had nothing to do with God and served no higher holy intent. This is why it is called<\/em> a dumb thing, you veered off course.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But here’s the silver lining, kid: You’re still in your 20s. Once you hit 30, you can no longer chalk such inanity up to your “youth” and naivete. It just won’t fly.\u00a0 That’s not to say that you have 4 and a half more years to play the fool; on the contrary, learn your lesson and make this particular mistake once and one time only.<\/p>\n Now take both of your hands and touch your face.\u00a0 See? It’s still there. Your stupidity didn’t kill you. And while we have yet to see fruit that it made you stronger, we can safely conclude that reality has settled in and you understand the root of your errant ways and are no longer dousing your mistake with holy water in a futile attempt to make it greater than, well, a mistake.<\/p>\n And what’s more, because of your penchant for the stupid, Jesus stands in the gap for you, and He will continue to do so.
